Lead Warehouse Worker- 2nd Shift

Position Summary

Penske Logistics seeks warehouse associates to join an outstanding team. Ideal candidates are safety-conscious, outgoing, and enthusiastic about working in a warehouse environment.

Major Responsibilities

• Support and supervise warehouse associates
• Work closely with Operations Supervisors to meet productivity expectations
• Provide various responsibilities as directed by supervisors
• Stage and sort products for loading
• Loads and unloads trailers
• Executes and provides process/project visibility to Operations Supervisor
• Expert in warehouse functions
• Leads and complies with safety and well-being efforts
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Sorts and places parts in racks or other designated areas
• Pulls manual dock chain
• Stacks cardboard boxes and pallets
• Moves materials within the warehouse
• Packages or kits finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
• Electronically scans products using a warehouse management system
• Ensures quality control, identifies damaged products, and completes daily logs
• Communicates with associates from other shifts
• Attaches identifying tags to containers or marks them with identifying information
• Reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments and material/equipment needs
• Records numbers of units handled and moved
• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse mechanical equipment
• Operates forklifts or pallet jacks to transport stored items
• Performs other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• 4 years of warehouse experience required
• 2 years of inventory or materials management experience preferred
• 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior forklift certification preferred
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint preferred
• Ability to learn and use proprietary software required
• Flexible to work overtime preferred
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
• Ability to lead a small team, excellent with numbers, time management, and ability to execute required
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening required

Physical Requirements

• Moves frequently, stands, walks, and sits
• Lifts and/or moves up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally up to 100lbs/45kg
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Hears, understands, and distinguishes speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes or alarms)
• Must be able to remember and understand certain instructions, guidelines, or other information
• Must be able to see and verbally communicate
