Responsibilities
- Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians.
- Produces images of internal body tissues to diagnose and monitor conditions such as heart disease, pregnancy, and cancer.
- Supervises and mentors ultrasound students.
- Maintains ultrasound equipment.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology or equivalent (certifications may require a Bachelor's degree).
- Certification or diploma from an approved ultrasound school.
- Licenses/Certifications: Registered by ARDMS in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), or Vascular (RVT); or Registered by CCI as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS); or Registered by ARRT in Sonography (S) or (VS).
Essential Functions
- Uses ultrasound equipment to produce images of internal body tissues.
- Documents and presents images, findings, calculations, and measurements to physicians for diagnoses.
- Adheres to ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, precautions, and standards.
- Provides direct patient care, including assessing patient condition and ability to cooperate.
- Positions patients and equipment, prepares patients for procedures, and monitors vital signs.
- Observes for reactions and signs of impending complications and intervenes as necessary.
- Maintains accurate records, files, and billing information.
- Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to HIPAA and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
- Prepares rooms and patients for subsequent ultrasound procedures.
- Verifies operational status of equipment before daily use.
Organizational Requirements
- Adventist Health requires all associates to receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment.
- The organization participates in E-Verify.
Pay Range
The estimated base pay for this position is $52.55 to $84.91 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
