Responsibilities

  • Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians.
  • Produces images of internal body tissues to diagnose and monitor conditions such as heart disease, pregnancy, and cancer.
  • Supervises and mentors ultrasound students.
  • Maintains ultrasound equipment.

Requirements

  • Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in radiological technology or equivalent (certifications may require a Bachelor's degree).
  • Certification or diploma from an approved ultrasound school.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Registered by ARDMS in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), or Vascular (RVT); or Registered by CCI as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS); or Registered by ARRT in Sonography (S) or (VS).

Essential Functions

  • Uses ultrasound equipment to produce images of internal body tissues.
  • Documents and presents images, findings, calculations, and measurements to physicians for diagnoses.
  • Adheres to ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, precautions, and standards.
  • Provides direct patient care, including assessing patient condition and ability to cooperate.
  • Positions patients and equipment, prepares patients for procedures, and monitors vital signs.
  • Observes for reactions and signs of impending complications and intervenes as necessary.
  • Maintains accurate records, files, and billing information.
  • Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to HIPAA and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
  • Prepares rooms and patients for subsequent ultrasound procedures.
  • Verifies operational status of equipment before daily use.

Organizational Requirements

  • Adventist Health requires all associates to receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment.
  • The organization participates in E-Verify.

Pay Range

The estimated base pay for this position is $52.55 to $84.91 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
