- Oversee daily operations of the medical team, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Provide direct patient care as needed, including medication administration and health education.
- Develop and implement protocols for infection control and patient safety.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care plans.
- Train and mentor new staff members to enhance their clinical skills and understanding of correctional healthcare.
- Facilitate communication between medical staff and jail administration regarding patient needs and concerns.
- Participate in regular performance evaluations and professional development activities for the medical team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Indiana.
- At least 2 years of experience in a correctional healthcare setting or equivalent experience.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
