Lead Technician, Electrical/Mechanical Designer (Hybrid)

This role involves mentoring new designers or engineers and assisting in the preparation and release of design data and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex technical tasks requiring a deep understanding of engineering techniques to create mechanical or electrical design layouts based on verbal instructions, sketches, or existing hardware/models.
- Prepare and release design data and documentation into company systems, ensuring compliance with company, industry, and contractual standards.
- Mentor new mechanical designers or engineers on current procedures for design database and documentation release.
- Assist engineering in selecting proper specifications for materials, finishes, processes, connectors, or other electrical components during the design process.
- Complete technical documentation for hardware design data release into the company’s documentation control system.
- Support engineering in revising released artifacts in the document control system.
- Maintain awareness of contractually controlled design and documentation requirements.
- Utilize advanced CAD and data management tools to complete design tasks.
- Direct lower-grade personnel in preparing technical documentation as needed.
- Validate change definition artifacts for revisions to existing designs and ensure proper revision capture into formal design documentation.
Requirements
- AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post-high school training) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Classroom or industry experience with 3D CAD software packages (e.g., NX, Creo, Solidworks, CATIA, Autodesk Inventor).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Siemens NX is preferred.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $60,000 – $114,000 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Factors such as work experience, location, education/training, and key skills are considered when extending an offer.
