Transdev in Colorado Springs, Colorado is hiring a Lead Road Supervisor for Fixed Route operations. This role oversees Fixed Route Supervisors and Operators, focusing on safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight for Radio, Operations, Dispatch, Terminal, and Road Supervisor functions.
  • Monitor road service and trip performance measures, including route start times, on-time performance, and incidents.
  • Assign and communicate job requirements and responsibilities to Operators and Fixed Route Supervisors.
  • Handle day-to-day scheduling, counseling, and evaluation reports.
  • Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports and safety violation documents.
  • Manage vehicle operator emergency situations and escalated calls.
  • Supervise staff on weekends and evenings.
  • Manage department reports and communication tools.
  • Respond to customer questions and concerns about no-shows, cancellations, and missed trips.
  • Host driver training and safety courses.
  • Assist the Safety Manager with DOT compliance regarding drug testing and recordkeeping.
  • Support training for new employees.
  • Drive routes periodically.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of transit supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical, if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Skills

  • Supervisory and leadership experience in transit operations.
  • Ability to manage emergency situations and customer escalations.
  • Proficiency in accident investigation and report preparation.
  • Experience with scheduling, training, and employee evaluations.

Schedule

  • Friday/Saturday/Sunday: 4:30 AM - 12:30 AM.
  • Monday-Thursday: 4:30 AM - 10:30 PM.
  • Schedule may be irregular and vary as needed.

Fleet Information

Our fleet consists of various vehicle sizes, and all drivers must be able to operate each size.

Physical Requirements

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions; 100% of the job is performed outside, often alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances on sloped, slippery, or uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to access files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
