Lead Platform Engineer, Workday Functional (HCM)

As a Workday Engineer, you will develop highly-resilient, fundamentally-sound solutions to support Capital One’s Human Resource technology ecosystem. You will champion automation of functional and technical processes and drive innovative solutions within People Tech, which is responsible for the digital transformation and operational excellence of Capital One’s corporate functions. The mission is to innovate and transform the Human Experience by providing robust technical solutions across HR, Legal, Brand, and Global Workplace Services.

Responsibilities

• Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
• Translate business priorities into HR value propositions and strategies to meet enterprise needs
• Deliver Workday solutions across HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Payroll and Benefits through efficient, organized processes while maintaining high standards
• Communicate effectively across teams, product owners, stakeholders and influence solutions across business partners
• Identify process improvement opportunities; collaborate with HR partners to redesign business processes that optimize results
• Research, test and stay current on Workday updates, fixes and capabilities
• Build and maintain thorough documentation for system implementation
• Serve as primary contact for questions about how the system works from business and technical perspectives
• Provide production support for Workday by troubleshooting problems, testing, and working with the business to resolve issues

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
• At least 6 years of experience with Workday functional configuration tasks
• At least 4 years of experience configuring business processes within the Workday platform
• At least 2 years of experience with calculated fields or custom reports

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 7+ years of experience with Workday functional configuration (Recruiting, Benefits, TM/PM)
• Experience working in an agile delivery environment
• Workday or Workday Pro certifications (HCM, Recruiting, Benefits, Compensation, Time Tracking or Performance Management)
• 2+ years of experience with Workday Security or Workday Reporting
• 1+ years of experience loading HCM data into Workday using existing Enterprise Interface Builders (EIB’s)

Pay

Salaries for full-time roles are listed below by location. Salaries are for candidates hired to perform work within the specified location and reflect the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on agreed hours.

• Chicago, IL: $149,800 – $171,000
• McLean, VA: $164,800 – $188,100
• New York, NY: $179,700 – $205,100
• Plano, TX: $149,800 – $171,000
• Richmond, VA: $149,800 – $171,000
• San Francisco, CA: $179,700 – $205,100
• San Jose, CA: $179,700 – $205,100

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. The actual annualized salary amount offered will be reflected in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
