Responsibilities

  • Facilitate virtual and hybrid mentor-program events for annual cohorts of approximately 30-45 participants.
  • Deliver program orientation covering expectations, roles and responsibilities, communication strategies, and practices for successful mentoring partnerships.
  • Deliver initial mentor training for individuals who are new to mentoring.
  • Facilitate a structured matching event that enables prospective mentors and mentees to interact and assess professional compatibility.

  • Deliver optional stand-alone mentoring-skills workshops on subjects such as active listening, constructive feedback, goal setting, and boundary setting.
  • Support optional programming for newly appointed supervisors on topics such as conflict resolution, performance management, difficult conversations, delegation, and organizational leadership.
  • Adapt delivery methods to provide an equitable experience for both in-person and virtual participants during hybrid events.
  • Maintain active participant engagement and ensure that stated event objectives are addressed.
  • Review and use Government-approved agendas, slides, exercises, handouts, pre-work, and other curriculum materials.
  • Coordinate with the Program Coordinator regarding participant needs, event logistics, technical requirements, attendance, and follow-up actions.
  • Be present and ready in the physical or virtual classroom at least 30 minutes before the scheduled event start time.
  • Maintain professional decorum, business-appropriate presentation, respectful communication, and clear instructional delivery.
  • Protect participant information and comply with applicable accessibility, security, facility-access, and administrative requirements.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated adult-learning and professional facilitation experience.
  • Relevant experience delivering mentoring, leadership-development, career-development, supervisory-development, or workforce-development programming.
  • Experience facilitating virtual and hybrid events.
  • Ability to engage adult learners and facilitate interactive discussions, exercises, networking activities, and reflective learning.
  • Strong presentation, communication, group-management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to facilitate sensitive discussions involving professional goals, mentoring relationships, communication challenges, and workplace development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a Program Coordinator, Government representatives, other facilitators, and program participants.
  • Ability to travel to Quantico and Stafford, Virginia, when assigned to hybrid or in-person events.
  • Ability to meet applicable Marine Corps installation and facility-access requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering or supporting a formal organizational mentoring program.
  • Experience conducting structured mentor and mentee matching or networking activities.
  • Experience working with Federal Government, Department of Defense, military, acquisition, technical, or professional workforces.
  • Professional credentials related to facilitation, training, coaching, mentoring, leadership development, organizational development, or adult education.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and hybrid classroom delivery.
