About the role

The Lead Medical Assistant (MA IV) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties assisting in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Lead Medical Assistant (MA IV) is capable of performing all aspects of the Associate MA (MA I), Medical Assistant (MA II), and Senior MA (MA III) roles. Additionally, the Lead Medical Assistant serves in a leadership role or is highly skilled and trained in multiple complex specialty areas, overseeing ambassadors, change agents, quality champions, and preceptors within the clinic.

Ages of patients served: Birth and above.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of Associate MA (MA I), Medical Assistant (MA II), and Senior MA (MA III).
  • Serve in a leadership role within the clinic.
  • Oversee ambassadors, change agents, quality champions, and preceptors.
  • Provide high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment, handling confidential data with discretion.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, or
  • Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or
  • Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
  • National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association (within 30 days of hire).
  • 3 years of medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
  • 3 years of experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • 6 months of working experience in a PSJH clinic within the last 3 years, or 18 months of experience in a Lead MA role in a clinical setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $28.93 - $44.27 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Schedule

Full time, Day shift.

Work location: St Mary High Desert Medical Group, 17095 Main Street, Hesperia, CA. On-site workplace type.
