About the role

This position involves managing operational quality control tasks, ensuring compliance with relevant manuals, regulations, and customer programs. Key responsibilities include reviewing technician assignments, conducting spot checks, verifying squawks, and communicating with tech support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technician assignments and sign-offs to ensure adherence to Roster Authorizations and Repair Station Authorizations.
  • Conduct front-line spot checks of technician maintenance activity to verify compliance with AMM, RSQCM, and customer guidelines.
  • Run/taxi qualification of techs, verification of squawk completion, and communication with tech support.
  • Ensure MEL procedures are complied with and MQB 2018-02 Rev 1 procedures are adhered to.
  • Perform aircraft final walk-around and release, paying particular attention to disturbed areas.
  • Advise customers via email about aircraft releases from West Star Aviation custody.
  • Ensure appropriate and current technical data is used and that policies and procedures are followed.
  • Tag, inspect, and identify parts/components as per the manual and coordinate with maintenance activities.
  • Review and reject items and work found non-compliant with manuals, regulations, and customer programs.
  • Hold the release of an aircraft if unsatisfactory conditions are identified.
  • Communicate effectively in English and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License or Repairman Certificate.
  • A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal but not mandatory).
  • Aircraft specific factory training is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations with part 43.
  • Proficient in using various inspection equipment and visual inspection aids.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with specific deadlines.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to perform work according to FAA guidelines.
  • Maintain customer-oriented work habits and direct team members in daily operations.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills (speaking, writing, reading).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and evaluate system operation.
  • Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience with Apple and Microsoft products, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Travel to various locations and work in different environments.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $32 - $58. Additional compensation includes a shift differential and semi-annual discretionary bonuses.

Schedule

Varied work shifts including 5x8, 4x10, and 3x12 schedules, with weekly competitive pay.
