About the role
This position involves managing operational quality control tasks, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and performing various maintenance activities. The Lead Maintenance Inspector will oversee technicians, conduct spot checks, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage technician assignments and sign-offs to ensure adherence to Roster Authorizations and Repair Station Authorizations.
- Perform front-line spot checks of technician maintenance activity to verify compliance with AMM, RSQCM, and customer GMM guidelines.
- Run/taxi qualification of techs, verification of squawk completion, and communication with tech support.
- Ensure MEL procedures are complied with and MQB 2018-02 Rev 1 procedures are adhered to.
- Final walk-around and release of aircraft, ensuring proper tagging and inspection of parts.
- Advise customers via email regarding aircraft release from West Star Aviation custody.
- Ensure appropriate technical data is used and policies/procedures are followed.
- Perform distributed customer requests and verify their execution.
- Communicate effectively in English and hold the release of an aircraft if unsatisfactory conditions are identified.
- Reject non-compliant work and reject incomplete or improperly completed work.
Requirements
- A High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License or Repairman Certificate.
- A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal but not mandatory).
- Aircraft specific factory training is preferred.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations with part 43.
- Proficient in using various inspection equipment and visual inspection aids.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work independently.
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 70 lbs, routine walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and working on elevated platforms.
