About the role

This position is available as a Lead Maintenance Inspector at West Star Aviation. West Star is a rapidly expanding maintenance repair organization dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service through its skilled workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operational quality control tasks and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Review technician assignments and sign-offs to ensure adherence to Roster Authorizations and Repair Station Authorizations.
  • Perform front-line spot checks of technician maintenance activity to ensure adherence to AMM, RSQCM, and customer GMM guidelines.
  • Run/taxi qualification of techs assigned to run engines/taxi, verify squawk completion, and conduct operational checks.
  • Verify satisfactory squawk completion, engine run/taxi qualification, and tech proficiency.
  • Communicate with tech support and ensure customer MEL procedures are complied with.
  • Perform aircraft final walk-around and release, focusing on areas disturbed during maintenance.
  • Advise customers via email regarding aircraft release from West Star Aviation custody.
  • Ensure appropriate and current technical data is used and that policies and procedures outlined in the WSA RSQCM are followed.
  • Tag, inspect, and identify parts/components as per the manual, coordinating with maintenance activities.
  • Verify customer requests and ensure they are carried out appropriately.
  • Perform corrective actions with respect to quality issues and reject non-compliant items and work.
  • Communicate effectively in English and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License or Repairman Certificate.
  • A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal but not mandatory).
  • Aircraft specific factory training is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations with part 43.
  • Proficient in using various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids.

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable transportation to work each day.
  • Ability to perform work in accordance with FAA guidelines.
  • Experience with Apple and Microsoft products, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Able to travel to various locations and work in different weather conditions.

Skills

  • Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
  • Troubleshooting or evaluating system operation.
  • Effective communication (speaking, writing, reading).
  • Ability to input and retrieve information from computers.

Pay & Schedule

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $40.00 - $60.00, with additional compensation for shift differential. The range is subject to change based on various factors including location, experience, and performance.

Schedule

Flexible work schedules are offered, including 5x8, 4x10, and 3x12 shifts.
