Lead Maintenance Inspector - 1042

About the role

This position is a Lead Maintenance Inspector at West Star Aviation. West Star is a fast-growing maintenance repair organization dedicated to delivering customer service excellence through its talented team.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational quality control tasks and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Perform front line, spot checks of technician maintenance activity to ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Verify squawk completion, engine run/taxi qualifications, and tech proficiency.
• Communicate with tech support and verify MEL procedures.
• Perform aircraft final walk-around and release, focusing on disturbed areas.
• Advise customers via email about aircraft releases.
• Ensure proper tagging, inspection, and identification of parts and components.
• Verify customer requests and MX Net status.
• Perform corrective actions and reject non-compliant work.
• Communicate effectively in English.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License or Repairman Certificate.
• A valid driver's license for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal but not mandatory).
• Aircraft specific factory training preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations with Part 43.
• Proficient in using inspection equipment and visual inspection aids.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work shifts.
• Ability to work independently and follow safety guidelines.

Pay & Schedule

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $40.00 - $60.00, with additional compensation for shift differentials. The company also offers a semi-annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match, and employer contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
