Responsibilities

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a professional medical doctor or mid-level provider and maintains a safe, therapeutic environment. Key duties include:

• Administering nursing procedures such as sterile dressings, soaks, compresses, enemas, suppositories, oxygen therapy, catheterization, diabetic care, and pre/post-operative care.
• Leading day-to-day work and productivity of patient care staff.
• Advising and assisting staff on resolving patient/customer issues.
• Assisting supervisors in scheduling employee time off and daily work assignments.
• Addressing operational issues within the clinic.
• Serving as a clinical preceptor when needed.
• Supporting management in hiring, training, employee engagement, performance management, identifying operational improvements, reinforcing management expectations, and scheduling.

Requirements

• Degree in Practical Nursing.
• Current Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• CPR certified.
• Knowledge of sterile technique.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an LPN with OSUP or equivalent experience at OSU within the last year.
• Prior experience as a preceptor preferred.

Pay

USD $24.22 - USD $36.33 per hour.
