Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a professional medical doctor or mid-level provider and maintains a safe, therapeutic environment. Key duties include:
- Administering nursing procedures such as sterile dressings, soaks, compresses, enemas, suppositories, oxygen therapy, catheterization, diabetic care, and pre/post-operative care.
- Leading day-to-day work and productivity of patient care staff.
- Advising and assisting staff on resolving patient/customer issues.
- Assisting supervisors in scheduling employee time off and daily work assignments.
- Addressing operational issues within the clinic.
- Serving as a clinical preceptor when needed.
- Supporting management in hiring, training, employee engagement, performance management, identifying operational improvements, reinforcing management expectations, and scheduling.
Requirements
- Degree in Practical Nursing.
- Current Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- CPR certified.
- Knowledge of sterile technique.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an LPN with OSUP or equivalent experience at OSU within the last year.
- Prior experience as a preceptor preferred.

- Knowledge of procedures for administering medications and patient care aids.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills for handling sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
- Analytical ability to gather and interpret data, develop solutions, and implement recommendations.

Pay
USD $24.22 - USD $36.33 per hour.
