Licensed Practical Nurse, Pediatric General Surgery Clinic

Responsibilities

• Triage calls and determine appropriate medical decisions.
• Demonstrate competency and accuracy in all work tasks.
• Courteously answer telephone and chart appropriately in EMR.
• Takes complete and accurate messages as required.
• Aids in assessing the medical and nursing care rendered by self and others.
• Utilizes appropriate Triage protocols via EMR to guide patient care.
• Fills in and assists other office staff members during absences or work overloads.
• Performs and communicates in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
• Explains therapy, tests, and treatments to patients and family members clearly.
• Assures delivery of quality patient care by identifying problems and assisting in the assessment of patient health status.
• Plays a role in planning time effectively, setting priorities, and assisting others as necessary.
• Exhibits good problem-solving skills by consistently demonstrating the ability to assess situations, consider alternatives, and choose appropriate courses of action.
• Communicates with patients, family members, and visitors in a friendly, courteous, and empathetic manner.
• Maintains a comfortable, orderly, safe, clean, and private patient care environment.
• Participates in the orientation of new personnel to the office.
• Maintains good rapport and cooperation with other office staff members.
• Greet patients, family members, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Current Louisiana License as LPN.
• BLS Certification.
