About the role
A HVAC Service Technician at Comfort Plus Services is responsible for setting up, repairing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The position offers opportunities for continuous training and experience within the industry.
Responsibilities
- Service and repair all types of HVAC equipment
- Read blueprints to diagnose, troubleshoot, analyze, and locate malfunctions in HVAC units
- Replace defective or worn parts and make necessary adjustments
- Provide suggestions for increasing energy efficiency and set controls to ensure proper system operation
- Install and assist with the installation of HVAC equipment as needed
- Meet customer needs and provide excellent, positive customer service
- Meet quarterly performance goals
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of service experience in the HVAC industry
- CFC/EPA Certificate required
- NATE Certification preferred but not required
- Good driving record with no more than 2 points on the license
- Effective communication skills for both customers and coworkers
- Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
- Willingness to cross-train and assist others
- Ability to take on-call rotations
Skills
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and components
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Customer service skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude

- Occasionally enter restrictive spaces such as attics or crawl spaces
- May need to climb a ladder to access HVAC equipment on the roof
- Must have close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision
- Must be able to adjust focus
