Lead Facilities Specialist
What You Need to Know
Develop and implement initiatives to maximize access, use, and effectiveness of American Red Cross facilities for the delivery of programs and services. Deliver unwavering excellent service and communication to all internal customers and external partners. Pursue goals and objectives to ensure that Red Cross facilities deliver high impact while managing operating expense. Act as a Facilities services subject matter expert (SME) to staff, management, volunteers and external partners. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.
This role reports to the Seattle, WA chapter office all 5 days a week. Travel across the region is expected.
Salary range (Washington State): $80,168.40/yr. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall support in the execution of fleet and facilities management within a region
- Develop and execute facilities maintenance for American Red Cross facilities
- Develop and execute strategy for the American Red Cross fleet that includes preventative and corrective maintenance, fleet reporting and analysis, and the support process around vehicle reservations
- Develop and implement volunteer orientation program to utilize volunteers to fully support the fleet, facilities and general administration operations teams in a cooperative atmosphere
- Collaborate with Volunteer Services to recruit and train assigned volunteers
- May directly supervise full-time and part-time volunteers
- May hire, train, coach, counsel and evaluate performance of volunteers or provide recommendation regarding supervisory action
- Monitor, analyze and provide consultation of the regional fleet and facilities budgets
- Evaluate operations department outcomes and results to reinforce best in class fleet and facilities management
- Develop and maintain active professional relationships with key internal and external partners or vendors
- May write, organize or maintain technical sections of the department procedure manual
- Enforce organization safety policies, regulations and procedures related to fleet and facilities management to ensure they are followed at all times
- Responsible to be up-to-date on all relevant role specific training, in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Carries out any additional assignments required to fulfill the Mission of the American Red Cross
- Will drive vehicle to other locations
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to develop project plans and budgets
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of program or service
- Maintain confidentiality to work ethically and with integrity
- Demonstrated ability to create presentations and training modules
- Applicable local licensure if required by state directives
- Ability to work on a team
- A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required
- Travel: May be required to travel
- Scope: Individual contributor that is fully proficient in applying subject matter knowledge. Knowledge based acquired from several years of experience in particular area. Work independently and may instruct, or coach other professionals
- Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted)
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Work environment consists of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic)
- Ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time
