About the role

This position serves as a team leader providing direction, planning, oversight and coordination of all facilities maintenance, repair, and construction to support law enforcement training programs at the FLETC.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating facilities maintenance, repair, and construction activities by guiding the facilities team in problem-solving, managing workloads, and ensuring timely completion of assignments and projects.
  • Developing plans and detailed specifications for facility repairs, improvements, renovations, and construction projects, and ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and requirements.
  • Advising management on building maintenance programs, policies, and operations, including conducting periodic inspections, preparing cost estimates, and setting budget priorities for repairs and improvements.
  • Planning and administering comprehensive building and grounds maintenance programs, including occupant safety, comfort, and services such as HVAC, plumbing, parking, painting, and life safety.
  • Participating in meetings with management officials to discuss facility changes, budget projections, equipment needs, and preparing statements of work for maintenance and construction projects.

Requirements

  • This is a bargaining unit covered position, represented under the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU).
  • You must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license to conduct official government business.

  • You must complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required.
  • This position is eligible for situational-only telework based on agency policy.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret (2N – Non-Critical Sensitive) security clearance.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Shift work may be required.
  • Weekends and federal holidays may be required.
  • This position is Emergency Essential and required to sustain FLETC’s operations under all conditions.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain all training for a DHS Program Manager Level III certification within 12 months of employment.
  • You must possess and maintain Federal Acquisition Certification - Contracting Officer Representative (FACCOR) Level III certification; or have the requisite training/experience to obtain and maintain certification.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain Hazardous Waste Management Certification.

Qualifications

  • A resume must be no more than two pages.
  • You must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: coordinating facilities program management activities, overseeing facility asset management, collaborating and facilitating with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, and contractors, to optimize facilities management programs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
  • All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
  • Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
