Lead Endoscopy Tech
About the Role
The Lead Endoscopy Technician serves as the senior technician within the endoscopy suite and is responsible for supporting gastrointestinal procedures, ensuring high-level disinfection and maintenance of endoscopic equipment, and coordinating the daily operations of the endoscopy unit. This role includes technical assistance during procedures, mentoring and training staff, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Support gastrointestinal procedures
- Ensure high-level disinfection and maintenance of endoscopic equipment
- Coordinate daily operations of the endoscopy unit
- Provide technical assistance during procedures
- Mentor and train staff
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards
- Support and help achieve departmental goals
- Complete established competencies for the position within designated introductory period
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
Preferred Education: Completion of an accredited Endoscopy Technician or Surgical Technologist program
Minimum Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician
Preferred Experience: Prior leadership or team lead experience
Required Certifications/Licensure:
- Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) on hire
Preferred Certifications/Licensure: Certification as a Gastroenterology Tech (e.g., SGNA GTS or CBSPD/IAHCSMM)
