About the role

We have a position for you in a rural, supportive family-like setting. You'll work with smaller student body sizes than traditional public schools, contributing to the positive transformation of at-risk teens in our adolescent residential academy program in Yanceyville, North Carolina.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train Direct Care Supervisors to ensure balanced therapeutic and educational programming.
  • Awareness of the entire program operation, ready to assume any necessary duties or responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with JJ Case Managers for in-house screenings and assessments.
  • Oversee placement of youth in specific groups.
  • Participate and evaluate re-assessments of youth with the Service Team.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a social or human service field, or equivalent coursework with at least 4 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with an at-risk youth population.

Skills

  • Ability to travel through wilderness terrain.
  • Pass evaluation of crisis intervention/physical restraint techniques and written certification exam.
  • Use approved techniques as needed.
  • Ability to transport clients and staff.

About the location

Eckerd Connects' Short-Term Juvenile Justice Residential program is a complete rehabilitative experience delivered in 4 to 6 months to 40 adjudicated male youth, ages 13 to 17, referred by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Juvenile Justice. This residential treatment concept combines promising and evidence-based practices with a strong family transition component and signifies a public-private partnership with the Division of Juvenile Justice.
