Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Assists Program Administrator with day-to-day oversight of residence.
- Supervises assigned direct support staff and those on shift, ensuring tasks are performed according to requirements.
- Observes and assists with tasks, implementing corrective actions when needed.
- Reports, tracks, and escalates issues or concerns.
- Consults with program leadership and external consultants to ensure high-quality care.
- Ensures appropriate supervision and protection of people supported.
- Supports implementation of Individual Behavior Support Plans (IBSPs) and IPPs.
- Provides coverage for direct care responsibilities.
- Maintains oversight and compliance of systems including scheduling, shift reports, and inventory management.
- Develops a supportive work environment and fosters open communication.
- Manages staff, schedules, and resolves staffing issues.
- Documents and maintains financial ledgers and records.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and completes incident reporting.
- Trains DSP-RBTs in driving and performs driver certification.
- Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Six months of supervisory or lead experience in I/DD, mental health, or related fields.
- Completion of State of California Direct Support Professional Training (DSPT).
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician and ongoing maintenance of certification.
- Group Home Administrator or Adult Residential Facility Administrator certification, depending on the program.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Comprehensive understanding of California’s Lanterman Act and Title 17 and 22 regulations.
- Completion of Facility Manager Training within 30 days of appointment.
- Completion of Residential Services Orientation through the program’s Regional Center.
- CPR/First Aid, Ukeru, and CPI certifications.
- Annual continuing education units (CEUs) for professional development.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexible schedule and ability to meet essential physical demands.
