Lead DevOps Engineer - OH (Pref), NC, TX
About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, cloud-native platforms that enable secure and efficient application delivery. This role focuses on Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms, GitOps-driven CI/CD workflows, and automation. The ideal candidate is passionate about developer enablement, infrastructure as code, and building resilient, self-service platforms using modern automation and cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
- Configure and support Java application build automation using Maven and Gradle.
- Design, build, and operate scalable cloud-native platform solutions.
- Support Kubernetes and OpenShift-based application delivery environments.
- Enable and enhance GitOps-driven deployment workflows using GitHub Actions.
- Support Python application build, CICD, and deployment processes.
- Develop and support deployment automation and orchestration using Harness.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code practices and support automation across OpenShift, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Implement CI/CD quality gates, including hard and soft controls, to meet governance and audit requirements.
- Develop automation and tooling using Python to improve pipeline monitoring, visibility, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and security teams to support developer self-service capabilities.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of Software Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong expertise with GitHub Actions and GitOps-based CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Java build tools (Maven and/or Gradle). Experience with a deployment tool, preferably Harness. Strong experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift (OCP) and cloud-native environments. Experience with Python builds and CICD. Experience working in a large-scale regulated industry with exposure to governance controls and audits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible or Terraform.
- Exposure to AI agentic frameworks.
- Experience with Azure and GCP.
- A Kubernetes or DevOps certification.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
