Lead DevOps Engineer
The Role
The Lead DevOps Engineer at Elucid plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our platform is reliable, safe, and efficient. They are responsible for CI/CD strategy, guiding infrastructure decisions, and serving as a mentor and technical leader to their peers.
Responsibilities
- Owns CI/CD strategy end-to-end, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and other tools.
- Makes decisions about software building, testing, and deployment in a multi-service environment.
- Manages containerization and orchestration skills (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate).
- Works with infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform) to ensure reproducibility and self-documentation.
- Serves as an informal technical leader, mentoring engineers and driving architectural decisions.
- Communicates effectively with engineering, product, and QA teams, explaining complex concepts clearly.
- Participates in on-call rotation for business days from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM.
Requirements
- 10+ years of DevOps/SRE/Platform engineering experience on AWS environments.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, Ruby, or similar.
- Proven track record in CI/CD strategy and decision-making.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Linux/Ubuntu fundamentals and infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform).
- Ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in a regulated medical device environment is a plus.
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or related field.
- MS or higher preferred.
- Experience with AWS and other cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Skills
- Python, Bash, Ruby, or similar scripting languages.
- Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate.
- Ansible, Terraform, or similar infrastructure as code tools.
- Experience in a regulated medical device environment.

Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this position at Elucid is $190,000-$240,000. Compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, education, relevant experience, certifications, and geography as outlined in the job description.
Schedule
This role operates in a hybrid model with regular in-office collaboration. It participates in an on-call rotation covering business days from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM. The on-call schedule is shared among all team members and generally occurs for 2–3 weeks per quarter.
