Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with team members to execute project scope, schedules, and budgets in conformance with client and customer requirements.
  • Research codes, guidance, policies, procedures, processes, criteria, and applicable laws/regulations to support technical recommendations.
  • Apply innovative technical principles, practices, and theories to resolve technical issues.
  • Perform field investigations, review as-built drawings, document findings, and provide reports with observations, data, and photographs.
  • Coordinate with clients, leadership, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Hold and document meetings, recommend requirements, and coordinate workflow processes.
  • Review technical reports, RFIs, designs, design changes, deliverables, submittals, and cost proposals for compliance with client/RFP requirements.
  • Provide technical support for design/construction submittals and field observations.
  • Oversee project teams, incorporating client design concepts into schematic design and construction documents.
  • Support construction field activities and field investigations.
  • Document all project communications and calculations.
  • Participate in site investigations and client/user interviews to identify project needs, constraints, and opportunities.
  • Use computer programs and spreadsheets for engineering analysis and presentations.
  • Manage team resourcing, foster career growth, and contribute to proposal development/review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in architecture or related field.
  • 15+ years of design experience in architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing correspondence, reports, and briefing management personnel.
  • RA – U.S. Registered Architect.
  • US citizenship.
  • Ability to travel, obtain a passport, and/or security clearance if required.

Skills

  • Broad-based knowledge of architectural and engineering principles.
  • Understanding of multi-discipline engineering project design and construction.
  • Knowledge of construction practices, methods, and management.
  • Effective oral and written communication in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents.
  • Experience delegating tasks and mentoring junior team members.
  • Ability to design all project components and manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Detail-oriented time management with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain client relationships and represent clients in public hearings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • 5+ years of management experience.

Physical Demands

Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. Primarily sedentary work with occasional walking or standing. Must be able to use a computer for extended periods.

Working Environment

Primarily office-based with occasional travel to project sites. May serve as a Field Engineer during construction.
