As a Lead Architect, you will oversee large-scale federal projects nationwide, ensuring technical excellence, project delivery, and client satisfaction. Responsibilities

• Coordinate with team members to execute project scope, schedules, and budgets in conformance with project and customer requirements.
• Research codes, guidance, policies, procedures, processes, criteria, and applicable laws and regulations to support technical recommendations.
• Apply innovative technical principles, practices, and theories to resolve technical issues.
• Perform field investigations, including reviewing as-built drawings, documenting findings, and providing reports with observations, data, and photographs.
• Coordinate with clients, team members, leadership, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
• Hold and document meetings, recommend requirements, coordinate workflows, and schedule plans of action.
• Review technical reports, RFIs, designs, design changes, project deliverables, submittals, and cost proposals to ensure compliance with client and RFP requirements.
• Provide technical support for design and construction submittals, field observations, and construction activities.
• Oversee project teams and incorporate client-provided design concepts into schematic design and construction documents.
• Document all project communications and participate in site investigations and client interviews to identify project needs, constraints, and opportunities.
• Use computer programs and spreadsheets for engineering analysis and presentations.
• Manage team resourcing, foster career growth, and contribute to proposal development and review.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in architecture or a related field.
• 15+ years of design experience in architecture.
• Demonstrated experience preparing correspondence, written reports, and briefing management personnel.
• U.S. Registered Architect (RA).
• U.S. citizenship; ability to travel, obtain a passport, and/or security clearance if required.

Skills

• Broad-based knowledge of architectural and engineering principles.
• Understanding of technical concepts, principles, and practices applicable to multi-discipline engineering project design and construction.
• Knowledge of construction practices, methods, and construction management.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents.
• Strong delegation, mentorship, and project management skills from inception to completion.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and manage project schedules.
• Ability to maintain client relationships and represent clients in public hearings.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of Revit and AutoCAD.
• Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 5+ years of management experience.

Physical Demands

• Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally or negligible force frequently.
• Primarily sedentary work with occasional walking or standing.
• Ability to use a computer for extended periods.

Working Environment

Work is generally conducted indoors in an office setting with occasional travel to project sites. May serve as a Field Engineer during construction.
