About the role
Lead Agilists come at least 5 years of full-time business experience and at least 3 years of Scrum experience. After training in Agile, Scrum and Scrum Mastering, they are given an Agile Squad or Squads to support.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the Agile Squad(s) understand and apply all Agile and Scrum values and principles.
- Determine Squad(s) needs through observations and intervene accordingly.
- Promote the growth of every team member by crafting messages and asking powerful questions.
- Facilitate Scrum events and activities, ensuring the team realizes value from them.
- Coach the Product Owner and Development Team in effective Product Backlog management.
- Coach the Agile Squad(s) in self-organization, continuous improvement, cross-functionality, risk identification, dependency management, conflict resolution, and software craftsmanship.
- Encourage Squad(s) to solve their own problems with Agile mindsets, performance, and team dynamics.
- Coach others in the organization regarding Agile practices and impacts.
- Provide objective guidance, free from personal or political considerations.
- Embody agility using a servant leadership approach and lead by example.
- Facilitate communication, cooperation, and collaboration inside and outside the Agile Squad.
- Build a trusting environment where problems can be discussed and solved collaboratively.
- Identify and manage risks by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns.
- Follow policies and procedures as defined and be accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues.
- Ensure actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience.
- Identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks of all types within the Bank's risk appetite.
Requirements
- A solid understanding of the Scrum Framework and principles of agility.
- An understanding of how to build high-performing teams that utilize inspect and adapt loops to continuously learn and improve.
- Critical and creative problem-solving skills.
- The ability to present, teach, mentor, and facilitate at multiple levels of the organization, particularly inside of a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Coaching skills with the ability to communicate complex messages and teach new concepts.
- The ability to resolve interpersonal and organizational conflicts - strong mediator.
- The ability to bring high-energy and passion to the job with a focus on building strong teams.
- The ability to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a sustainable and effective workplace.
- The ability to promote innovative thinking and self-improvement.
- A Bachelor's in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a directly related field or equivalent in work experience.
- Scrum experience.
