Job Responsibilities
This position is responsible for performing patrol officer duties to enforce state, county, and municipal criminal laws as well as traffic laws and college regulations for the protection of people at all campus locations.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A high school diploma is required.
- Prior to employment, candidates will undergo an extensive background check, Physical Ability Test (PAT), and polygraph test.
- Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and physical upon offer of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of law enforcement experience are preferred.
- Working knowledge of modern police methods and procedures.
- The ability to prepare reports and testify in court.
- The ability to work with a diverse population while providing excellent customer service.
- Graduates of the SC Criminal Justice Academy with one (1) year of experience in campus law enforcement preferred.
- A valid South Carolina driver's license, be 21 years of age, and possess the ability to meet the requirements of LE-1 Certification with the SC Criminal Justice Academy within one (1) year of employment.
- A working knowledge of state, county, and municipal laws is preferred.
