Landscaping Supervisor
About the role
This role will assist the Landscape & Grounds Manager in supervising, coordinating, and performing all landscaping, horticulture, and grounds maintenance activities throughout the resort’s exterior areas.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and participate in daily landscaping operations including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, weeding, fertilizing, and landscape enhancements.
- Supervise the maintenance and repair of all grounds equipment including mowers, trimmers, irrigation systems, blowers, and utility vehicles throughout the resort grounds.
- Respond to service requests regarding outdoor areas, guest pathways, special event preparations, and landscape-related concerns in a timely manner.
- Aid in ensuring proper execution of the work order/request system and follow up on all tasks when necessary, including scheduling, ordering of supplies, and initiating landscape projects.
- Install or relocate plants, trees, irrigation lines, or exterior fixtures as needed.
- Adhere to preventive maintenance schedules and departmental policies to ensure efficient landscaping operations.
- Maintain logs for tools, equipment usage, and inventory of horticultural materials, monitoring distribution as needed.
- Support environmental sustainability initiatives including water conservation, soil health, and resort-wide ecological standards.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with team members through ongoing communication, training, and teamwork.
- Respond properly in any resort emergency or safety situation involving outdoor areas.
- Ensure all landscaping storage areas, vehicles, and workspaces are clean, safe, and well-organized.
- Attend and participate in all required meetings.
Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years previous experience in landscaping, horticulture, groundskeeping, or outdoor maintenance, with supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Certifications in horticulture, irrigation, or arboriculture are a plus.
- Technical knowledge of landscape maintenance including irrigation systems, plant health care, pruning techniques, pest control practices, and operation of landscaping machinery.
- Ability to operate computer equipment and work with digital work order systems.
- Ability to function well under pressure, establish priorities, and adapt to changing environmental and operational conditions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
- The ideal candidate will have a confident, positive, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Position requires continuous outdoor work for 8 or more hours a day and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Fluency in English is required for this location and this job requires applicants to have current work authorization in the United States.
