Fort Jackson Grounds
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm (Saturdays When Needed)
Shift: Day
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Landscaping Project Manager to help keep daily operations running smoothly.
- Support the crew in the field.
- Contribute to the overall success and upkeep of the grounds throughout the military installation.
- Aid in daily crew coordination and work assignments.
- Provide guidance and support to crew members in the field.
- Ensure landscaping work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
- Assist with training employees on equipment use, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor equipment, vehicles, tools, and materials; report maintenance or supply needs.
- Conduct routine site inspections to maintain quality and identify areas for improvement.
- Serve as one of the primary points of contact for crews when the Project Manager is unavailable.
- Communicate job progress, concerns, and operational needs to management.
- Perform landscaping and grounds maintenance duties alongside the crew as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of landscaping experience.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a landscaping lead or assistant supervisory role.
- Experience operating landscaping equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance and groundskeeping practices.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, and safe work practices.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and ability to enforce safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Valid Real ID.
- Ability to obtain and maintain government base access.
Bonus if you have these skills
- Experience working on government or military installations.
- Horticulture, pesticide, or industry-related certifications.
- Irrigation troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues in the field.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
