Land Use Attorney

About the role

The firm is seeking a Land Use Attorney to join its municipal law team in Dallas. The firm represents local governmental entities across Texas in matters including annexation, zoning, land use, platting, economic development, public information, litigation, and real estate transactions.

Responsibilities

• Advises cities and local government clients on zoning, planning, platting, subdivision, and land use matters
• Drafts and reviews ordinances, resolutions, development agreements, easements, and related documents
• Counsels clients on annexation, ETJ issues, PIDs, TIRZs, economic development, and public infrastructure matters
• Attends public meetings and supports city councils, boards, commissions, and staff
• Researches and analyzes municipal, land use, and real estate legal issues
• Collaborates with attorneys and client teams on complex governmental matters

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in Texas
• Experience in land use, zoning, municipal law, real estate, or local government preferred
• Strong writing, research, and public-facing communication skills
• Able to manage multiple matters and provide practical, client-focused legal advice
