Lactation Consultant – Level 2 RN

Responsibilities

• Provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
• Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
• Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services.
• Assumes expanded roles such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member.
• Supports parents and infants facing routine and complex feeding challenges.
• Facilitates and monitors individualized infant feeding plans.
• Educates nursing staff and learners on evidence-based breastfeeding practices.
• Ensures timely documentation, follow-up planning, and connects to community resources.
• Completes CLC training while onboarding and IBCLC training within 2 years of hire.
• Has a strong clinical background in lactation care, particularly with medically complex dyads.
• Promotes breastfeeding as a critical component of infant and maternal health.
• Holds an RN license with 2 years of RN experience in the hospital setting.

Qualifications

Pay

Compensation range: $37.12 - $50.11 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time (36 hours/week), Day/Evening shifts, includes holiday and weekend commitment.
