Job Summary and Qualifications
The Mother Baby Lactation Consultant Registered Nurse (RN) at HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process, incorporating knowledge of patient's age-specific development and cultural values into the plan of care, and contributing to quality nursing care through process improvement techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Under the direction of the Nursing Director or Supervisor
- Delivers quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for the care of coupleting postpartum mother/baby combinations or other clinical care duties as assigned
- Directs all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice and federal, state, and local regulations
- Incorporates knowledge of patient’s age specific development and cultural values into the plan of care
- Contributes to quality nursing care through process improvement techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration
- May include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- (RN) Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree
- (IBCLC) International Board Certified Lactation Consultant must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
