Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out and supervise laboratory tests on construction materials such as soil, concrete, and aggregate.
  • Analyze test results and produce comprehensive reports.
  • Safeguard all laboratory activities according to ASTM, AASHTO, and other pertinent standards.
  • Create and enforce quality control protocols for laboratory operations.
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager and Client Coordinator to offer technical assistance and advice.
  • Assist in maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry developments and improvements in laboratory testing techniques.
  • Project Coordination and Execution

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
  • A Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Extensive knowledge of ASTM and AASHTO standards.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in laboratory equipment and software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in a civil engineering laboratory setting.
  • A Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with advanced geotechnical testing, including permeameter tests, oedometer tests, triaxial and direct shear tests, and other advanced testing methods (e.g., CRS, DSS, Triaxial Extension).
  • Familiarity with laboratory management software.
  • Aptitude with mechanical and electrical test systems.
  • Familiarity and experience with Trautwein GeoTac Software.
