About the role

The Geotechnical Project Engineer plays a key role in executing and managing geotechnical, construction, and geo-environmental projects across Florida and beyond. This role blends technical leadership with hands-on field experience, client coordination, and engineering analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee field investigations and laboratory testing programs for soil, rock, and groundwater.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Interpret subsurface data and prepare geotechnical engineering reports, including recommendations for foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, settlement, and more.
  • Supervise and support junior engineers and technicians in field and reporting tasks.
  • Cook up with clients, contractors, and subconsultants to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Provide AutoCAD drafting support for figures, boring logs, and site plans.
  • Aid in proposal development, project planning, and technical presentations.
  • Support internal QA/QC procedures and mentor junior staff toward technical excellence.

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings 5–10 years of experience and a proven ability to independently manage tasks, mentor junior staff, and contribute to project delivery at a high standard.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Geotechnical Engineer (P.G.E.) license preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and other relevant software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
