Job Details
We are seeking an associate to join our Labor and Employment practice, representing employers in a wide range of workplace-related matters. This role blends litigation and counseling, providing the opportunity to defend employment claims while also advising clients on day-to-day employment issues.
Responsibilities
- Represent employers in employment-related litigation and administrative proceedings
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and analyze complex employment law issues
- Manage discovery, including document review, written discovery, and depositions
- Participate in hearings, mediations, and dispute resolution processes
- Advise clients on employment-related issues, including workplace policies and employee relations
- Assist with compliance guidance and risk assessment related to employment laws
- Collaborate with attorneys on litigation strategy and case development
Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of labor and employment or general litigation experience
- Experience handling employment-related disputes or advising management on employment matters
- Familiarity with litigation processes, including discovery and motion practice
- Prior experience in a law firm environment preferred
- Strong academic background and demonstrated commitment to employment law
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the jurisdiction you will practice
- Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact directly with clients
- Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
