ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, employment-related contracts, responsive pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Advise clients on state and federal labor and employment laws, including fair employment, wage and hour, labor relations, and leave laws.
- Represent clients before state and federal administrative agencies and courts, including arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and assisting with case strategy, trial preparation, and other litigation matters.
- Stay current on legal developments affecting labor, employment, and litigation, and provide creative, practical legal solutions that help clients achieve their objectives in complex, high-stakes matters.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of experience in labor & employment law, with meaningful experience handling employment-related litigation.
- Excellent research, writing and drafting skills.
- Proven ability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines and demands both internally and externally.
- Superior organizational and time management skills.
- Able to work full-time, including variable hours that flex with client needs.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
- Interest in a collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment with a strong desire to contribute to team and client success.
- J.D. from ABA accredited law school.
- Admitted or eligible for admission to practice in Wisconsin.
