About the role
Labor and Delivery Nurse responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of the RN Practice Act.
Responsibilities
- Utilize therapeutic communication to maintain a safe environment
- Identify nursing problems and develop individualized care plans using the nursing process
- Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Perform technical skills and follow procedures
- Demonstrate critical thinking
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support hospital goals
- Participate in performance improvement activities
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited nursing school (B.S. or A.S.)
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience (preferably in Labor and Delivery)
- Current licensure by the appropriate nursing board
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- CPI training within specified timeframes
- Knowledge of human growth, assessment, and treatment
