Responsibilities
- Captures workflow related to all aspects of laboratory support services including processing, phlebotomy, specimen transport, supply distribution, patient registration, and customer service.
- Monitors Lab Information System (LIS) reports and logs for compliance to ensure pre-analytical processes are of highest quality.
- Affords leadership and technical expertise to the lab assistants and couriers.
- Assists leadership with department needs.
- Manages quality assurance documentation of personnel as needed.
- Oversees training and orientation of personnel.
- Maintains standards of accreditation for The Joint Commission (TJC) and The College of American Pathologists (CAP) for specific area.
Requirements
- High School Degree or GED (required)
- Associate Degree, Allied Health Sciences – Phlebotomy with additional coursework (preferred)
- Phlebotomist Certification (preferred)
- Previous experience in a laboratory setting (preferred)
- Previous experience in leadership position in customer service environment (preferred)
- 3 years phlebotomy experience with EKG experience (preferred)
