LabCentral is seeking a Lab Operations Lead for the Blavatnik Harvard Life Lab. This role will support our dynamic wet lab facility where cutting edge biotechnologies are developed.
Responsibilities
- Display a high-level of customer service to ensure the resident scientists have a positive and productive experience while at LabCentral
- Implement and execute preventative maintenance programs for shared lab equipment
- Advise and instruct resident scientists on equipment usage and facilitate training sessions with vendors
- Troubleshoot technical issues in the lab in collaboration with the lab team, resident scientists, and vendors
- Develop standard operating procedures for shared equipment and laboratory policies
- Maintain monitoring systems and respond to lab-related issues outside of normal business hours as part of the on-call rotation
- Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and partners
- Prepare laboratory spaces for new companies and assist with company onboarding
- Champion LabCentral's safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance by upholding biosafety and chemical hygiene programs in day-to-day operations
- Resolve unique issues revolving around a new site and shared work environment while contributing to the development of a collaborative and creative atmosphere
- Think critically to resolve unique issues revolving around a shared work environment and help maintain an environment of collaboration and creativity in partnership with the Senior Manager
- Support the Senior Manager in collaboration with the Harvard leadership to share best practices for facility management, programming opportunities, and marketing and engagement
Qualifications
- A degree in a scientific field and 2+ years of experience in a relevant work environment or 5+ years overall lab experience in a relevant work environment (e.g., biomanufacturing, process development or R&D lab, working with mammalian cell culture, etc.)
- Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with across LabCentral, Harvard and residents, navigating the expectations and interests of all parties
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software and ability to manage a database of information

Work environment
- Full-time onsite at our location in the Longwood Medical Area during regular business hours
- Sit and stand for long periods
- Ability to move around an office and lab environment
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds

Pay
Salary range: $57-74k along with the potential to earn a bonus of 8% based on company performance.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, during regular business hours.
