Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I) - Overnight Shift

Overnight shift: Monday to Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with rotational weekends.

Quest Diagnostics is recruiting for specimen processors/lab assistants to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals with strong organization skills and attention to detail, looking to start a career with a Fortune 500 company leading the world in diagnostic information services.

Responsibilities

• Data entry of test orders, presort, pickup, and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory.
• Centrifugation and aliquoting of specimens.
• Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities.
• Prepare laboratory specimens for various analysis and testing.
• Identify problems and, in some cases, resolve issues with specimen types (e.g., missing information).
• Understand the relationship between tests ordered and specimens received.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; previous experience in a production or medical environment is preferred.
• Flexibility to work night shifts, with potential requirements for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.

Pay

Pay range starts at $18.33+ per hour. Employees may be eligible for a shift differential of 10% for second shift and 15% for third shift. Salary offers consider factors such as skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market/organizational factors. Successful candidates may also be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.
