About the role
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) working overnight shifts on weekends, performing diagnostic laboratory procedures to deliver accurate and timely test results for patient diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Performing waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests within authorized scope.
- Collecting specimens via venipuncture, capillary, and arterial methods.
- Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, documenting quality control activities, and troubleshooting issues.
- Communicating test results, specimen requirements, and test methods effectively.
- Participating in proficiency testing, quality assurance, and laboratory projects.
- Adhering to safety, infection control, HIPAA, and regulatory guidelines (OSHA, CLIA).
- Performing EKGs and serving on facility committees when needed.
- Supporting team efforts, sharing training duties, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Associate Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician from an accredited institution.
- ASCP certification or equivalent; new graduates must obtain certification within one year.
- Ability to travel between work sites.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or willing to become certified within six months.
- Strong communication, judgment, and teamwork skills, with a focus on quality and confidentiality.
