Medical Laboratory Technician - Overnight Shift

About the role

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) working overnight shifts on weekends, performing diagnostic laboratory procedures to deliver accurate and timely test results for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Performing waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests within authorized scope.
• Collecting specimens via venipuncture, capillary, and arterial methods.
• Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, documenting quality control activities, and troubleshooting issues.
• Communicating test results, specimen requirements, and test methods effectively.
• Participating in proficiency testing, quality assurance, and laboratory projects.
• Adhering to safety, infection control, HIPAA, and regulatory guidelines (OSHA, CLIA).
• Performing EKGs and serving on facility committees when needed.
• Supporting team efforts, sharing training duties, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician from an accredited institution.
• ASCP certification or equivalent; new graduates must obtain certification within one year.
• Ability to travel between work sites.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or willing to become certified within six months.
• Strong communication, judgment, and teamwork skills, with a focus on quality and confidentiality.
