Kitchen Steward

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
• Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
• Starts the dish machine, fills all tanks, and ensures proper operations of the equipment.
• Cleans the dish machine as assigned (i.e., de-liming of hard water).
• Washes dishes in machine or in the three-compartment sink following proper procedures (i.e., using correct scraping procedures, cleaning solutions, and proper racks).
• Handles equipment (dishes, pots/pans, etc.) with caution to prevent damage and breakage.
• Returns all clean dishes to proper location after cleaning.
• Cleans all floors and heavy equipment used in the department.
• Aids the Warehouseman with storage and stocking of food and supplies as needed.
• Attends all department and hospital in-services as required.
• Performs special cleaning and other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One to three months related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
