About the role
Equipment Operator A-Water position with the City of Kingman, Arizona.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment used in the construction, maintenance, and repair of water distribution systems, including backhoes, loaders, trenchers, and related equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water mains, hydrants, valves, and service lines.
- Excavate trenches, backfill, and compact soil as required for water system projects.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and work orders.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Arizona Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or public works environment.
- Knowledge of water distribution systems and related construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous labor in various weather conditions.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
