About the role

GHD is seeking a Wastewater/Water Treatment Plant Operator to join their team in Kingman, AZ. This position is within the Contract Operations Group and offers a variety of responsibilities including solutions analysis, testing, project management, insights and reporting, personal capability building, data collection and analysis, product and solution development, work scheduling and allocation, equipment installation, and plant and machinery maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

Solutions Analysis: Find the most effective ways to respond to routine functional inquiries.
Testing: Develop product specifications and design test procedures and standards.
Project Management: Support others by carrying out a range of project management activities.
Insights and Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of various data and analytics reports.
Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
Product and Solution Development: Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.
Work Scheduling and Allocation: Design own monthly schedule and, if necessary, assign work to others in order to speed up office workflow and ensure high-priority tasks get done.
Equipment Installation: Help specialists set up and test new products or processes; install complex systems with guidance.
Plant and Machinery Maintenance and Repair: Maintain and repair complex plant and machinery and supervise the work of team members and contractors to ensure that the plant and machinery meet operational requirements, including conformance with regulatory and organizational health, safety, and environmental standards.

Requirements

A high school education is required.
ADEQ Grade 3 Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification and ADEQ Grade 3 Wastewater Operator Certification are required.
At least 10 years of experience is required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills are required.
The ability to perform physically demanding work for periods of time is required.
The ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds is required.
The ability to work outdoors part-time throughout the year as needed is required.
An Arizona driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

ADEQ Grade 4 Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification is preferred.
ADEQ Grade 4 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification is preferred.
A 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
