Water/Wastewater Operator

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Water/Wastewater Operator to oversee day-to-day operations at contracted client sites. This role is responsible for maintaining system performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and serving as the on-site representative of our company. A licensed operator is preferred, but experienced candidates working toward certification will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operation and maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment systems
• Monitor plant performance, process controls, and equipment functionality
• Collect samples and perform routine laboratory testing
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
• Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and DMRs
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions
• Coordinate chemical usage, deliveries, and inventory
• Communicate with management, clients, and regulatory agencies as needed
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and off-hours situations when required

Qualifications

• Active Water/Wastewater Operator License (preferred)
• Experience in water or wastewater treatment operations
• Knowledge of treatment processes (biological, chemical, mechanical systems)
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to be on call as needed
