Maintenance of Safety and Cleanliness
The Kiln Fireman is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work area to prevent personal injury and property damage.
Computer Skills and Data Entry
The Fireman will use the computer to enter quality data, make changes to processes, generate reports, and monitor process variables.
Equipment Knowledge and Operations
The Fireman will gain a strong understanding of drying and firing equipment and operations.
Physical Abilities and Safety Equipment
- Maintain safe and clean work area to avoid personal injury and/or property damage.
- Use proper safety equipment and procedures.
- Ability to learn other jobs and fill in when needed.
- Ability to operate and reset transfer cars and haulages.
- Ability to keep track of car positions.
- Ability to use hand tools to perform minor repairs and make adjustments.
- Communicate with supervision about production, quality, and safety issues.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to twist, stoop, and bend regularly.
- Hardhat, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes are required.
Work Schedule
The Fireman works a 6:45 pm – 7:00 am 2/2/3 schedule, meaning they must work every other weekend.
