Welder (Night Shift)

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for own welds, including quality of welds.
  • Inspect pre-existing welds and parts to ensure integrity.
  • Inspect parts before and after welding to meet task requirements.
  • Determine appropriate wire type for receiving material with minimal assistance.
  • Read and interpret Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Preheat material according to WPS requirements with minimal assistance and supervision.
  • Utilize Oxi-Fuel heating torch with minimal assistance and supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working area.
  • Use fabrication tools such as grinders.
  • Read blueprints/drawings to determine tasks with minimal assistance and supervision.
  • Follow job routes and clock hours accurately.
  • Set up weld machines with minimal assistance per related WPS.
  • Utilize cranes, hoists, and forklifts as needed.
  • Show strong knowledge of welding practices and standards.
  • Absorb and assist junior-level welders.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Shop and Welding Experience

  • Preferred.

Welding Certifications

  • To be certified on site through NOV.

Forklift Certification

  • Preferred.

Safety & Compliance

  • Must wear personal protective equipment continuously.
  • Must follow HSE requirements and participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • Must comply with NOV Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental policies & procedures.
  • Must ensure compliance with company objectives.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5-7 years of traditional welding experience.
  • Vocational education or shop training preferred.
  • Industry-related experience a plus.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (written and oral).
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing schedules.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, or push up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend while setting up and verifying measurements.
