Night Shift - Welder

Responsibilities

• Arc weld metal components (primarily mild steel) in adherence to AWS D1.1.
• Routinely produce multi-pass groove and fillet welds up to and including the 3G position (flat, horizontal, and vertical).
• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications.
• Inspect finished work for conformance to all specifications.
• Make weld repairs to damaged or non-conforming parts including surface build-up or plug welding.
• Engage in other work required for welding processes including oxy-fuel burning, arc gouging, finish grinding, flame straightening, etc.
• Operate hoists or cranes to move and position parts.
• Work at heights as needed.
• Comply with all Butech Bliss safety rules.
• Perform other related duties assigned by supervision.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in flux core arc welding with the ability to weld 1/16” – 3/32” diameter wires.
• Prior experience producing weldments that require multi-pass fillet and/or groove welds.
• Successful completion of a hands-on weld test is required.
• Able to frequently lift up to 75 pounds.
• Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, bend, reach, push and pull.
• Willing to work overtime when available, including Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a drug screening.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Skills

• Flux core arc welding.
• Multi-pass fillet and/or groove welding.
• Inspection of welds.
• Weld repair techniques.
• Use of oxy-fuel equipment.
• Hoisting and crane operation.
• Working at heights.
