KidLife Director - First United Methodist Church of Springfield
About The Role
The director will serve on the FamilyLife team, working closely with the executive team, teachers, volunteers, and parents to provide spiritual leadership, organization, and creative support for the children's ministry (birth through 5th grade). Responsibilities will include fostering meaningful relationships with students and their families, helping to cultivate a vibrant and welcoming community, and planning and leading family events. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves kids, takes Scripture seriously, and wants to see the next generation rooted in Biblical Truth.
Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual leadership and organization for the children’s ministry (birth through 5th grade).
- Foster meaningful relationships with students and their families.
- Cultivate a vibrant and welcoming community.
- Plan and lead family events.
- Recruit, equip, and inspire volunteers.
Requirements
- A mature follower of Jesus Christ.
- A passion for building relationships with children and their families.
- Strong organizational and leadership gifts.
- Alignment with Springfield First values: Purposeful Hospitality, Missional Lifestyle, Inspirational Worship, Joyful Generosity, Mindful Prayer, and Biblical Truth.
- Previous experience working with children, either as a Church staff member or volunteer is desired.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in ministry, teaching, or a related field is desired (or equivalent ministry experience).
