About the role

We are seeking a Full Time Sales Associate Key Holder to join our dynamic team at PetPeople. As a Key Holder, you will embody our mission and core values, fostering long-term relationships with customers through exceptional service and product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers through open-ended questions and active listening to understand their needs and provide appropriate item selections.
• Maintain solid product knowledge and stay updated with new product releases.
• Demonstrate products and enhance the shopping experience for customers.
• Perform general housekeeping tasks to keep the store clean and organized.
• Aid in processing shipments, replenishing stock, merchandising displays, and monitoring inventory levels.
• Complete transactions at the point of sale (POS) efficiently and accurately.
• Provide exceptional customer service, including carryout service, and handle escalated issues.
• Plan, assign, and direct tasks during your shift, ensuring all closing activities are completed accurately.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities according to PetPeople policies and procedures.

Requirements

• A genuine passion for pets and a strong interest in animal nutrition and welfare.
• Previous retail experience as a Key Holder or Lead.
• Adept at building customer relationships through excellent customer service.
• High energy and enthusiasm.
• Ability to work with honesty, integrity, fairness, and mutual respect.
• Strong multitasking and fast-paced environment skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Availability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
