Key Holder- FT

About the role

We are seeking a Full Time Sales Associate Key Holder to join our dynamic team at PetPeople. This position offers the opportunity to engage with customers, share knowledge about pet products, and build long-term relationships.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers through open-ended questions and active listening to understand their needs.
• Demonstrate products and provide recommendations based on customer inquiries.
• Maintain product knowledge and stay updated on new product releases.
• Perform general housekeeping tasks to keep the store clean and organized.
• Absorb the role of Manager-On-Duty in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
• Process shipments, replenish product, merchandise the store, and monitor stock levels.
• Complete transactions quickly and accurately at the point of sale.
• Provide exceptional customer service, including carryout service.
• Handle escalated customer service issues and communicate resolutions to the Store Manager.
• Plan, assign, and direct work during shifts, ensuring accurate completion of closing activities.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities according to PetPeople policies and procedures.

Requirements

• A genuine passion for pets and a strong interest in animal nutrition and welfare.
• Previous retail experience as a Key Holder or Lead.
• Adept at building customer relationships through excellent customer service.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, multiple-priority environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
